Have your Say on Our New Vessel
We are inviting all passengers – past, future and present – to share their views as we prepare for major investment in our fleet.
With a new Sea Services Agreement fully operational from next year, plans are in place to secure a new purpose-built vessel which will be designed and constructed over the next two to three years to replace the services currently provided by our conventional ferry, Ben-my-Chree.
When the replacement vessel arrives it is intended that the Ben-my-Chree will become a back-up vessel, which will enhance back-up for both passenger and freight links and help increase capacity during the TT and Festival of Motorcycling.
What is the purpose of the survey?
Through collecting this data, we’d like to understand our passengers’ general travel preferences, views about on-board facilities and overall satisfaction with any recent experiences of travelling with us. In particular, we’re keen to gauge a clear insight into preferences of on-board facilities.
Why is this important?
As a Company which plays an integral role in the community and promoting tourism in the Isle of Man, we naturally welcome comments from all members of the public as we plan which facilities and services should be prioritised when we introduce a new vessel.
Will our views make a difference?
There are many considerations and compromises which need to be factored in throughout the process. However, at this stage one of our top priorities is ensuring the new vessel meets the needs of both foot and vehicle passengers, in addition to the freight services operated daily to and from the Island.
While there are a variety of technical and safety requirements that have to be considered when designing a new vessel, we hope that the practical views collected from the survey will help us fine-tune the design to benefit our customers.
Will my views remain anonymous?
Absolutely. Some information such as your main residence, gender and age range are requested to ensure the overall survey results are representative. However, you will not be required to provide your name, email address, date of birth or any other identifiable personal data in order to complete the survey.
How long will the survey take to complete?
It should only take around 10-15 minutes to complete.
