The Old Dairy, Youlgreave, Derbyshire

A pretty village location in the heart of the Peak District National Park, with lovely waterside walks in Bradford Dale.

Full of chocolate box charm, this 18th-century stone cottage is located in the hillside parish of Youlgreave, which provides excellent local facilities, including three village pubs.

Youlgreave is located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, an ideal base from which to visit many nearby attractions, such as the country houses of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, cycle the Tissington and Manifold Trails or walk the Limestone Way in nearby Bradford Dale. The village provides excellent local facilities all within an easy walk of the cottage.

This character beamed stone cottage, part of which dates back to the early 1700’s, is approached from the cottage garden. The main door leads you into the living room to your left and has traditional flagstone floors overlaid with large Persian rugs and an open coal fire creating a very welcoming atmosphere. To your right is the separate and good sized dining room also with flagged floors, with a second open fire inset in a gritstone fireplace. A single step takes you to the galley-style rustic oak kitchen which has all the essential equipment you will need for your stay. To the end and open to the kitchen is a quaint snug, great for kids to play board games or for a bit of solitude. The stairs from the living room lead to 2 double bedrooms. The bathroom has a shower over bath, toilet and hand basin. There is ample on road parking to the front of the cottage. Shop, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
