War Horse – Theatre Breaks with Steam Packet Holidays
Join us for a theatre break in Liverpool in April 2025 and experience a timeless story of friendship and courage amidst the devastation of World War in the epic that is WAR HORSE.
With two dates to pick from (Opening night on Tuesday 8th or Saturday 12th April), you will sail to Liverpool with Steam Packet Holidays on Manannan and stay at a choice of great locations in the city centre. Ideally situated for a short break in this buzzing city of theatre, culture and much more.
At the Liverpool Empire Theatre you’ll catch an evening performance of the breath-taking production, enjoying a fantastic view of the stage from centrally located stall seats. Then sail back home to the Island the following day on board Manannan.

WAR HORSE is an unforgettable theatrical experience which takes audiences on an extraordinary journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France. Based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-sized horses by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.
