BBC RADIO CUMBRIA TO BROADCAST FROM VIKING

1/5/2008

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has given permission to BBC Radio Cumbria to broadcast from the Viking this morning as they travel to the Island, and during their return journey on 6 May.

The programme will be aired throughout Cumbria from 0900 – 1200 on the weekend and 1000 – 1300 on Bank Holiday Monday.  The show will be based on the question "You can see it from Cumbria but how much do you really know about the Isle of Man?"

The team will be broadcasting from the Villa Marina on 3 May, from Cregneash on 4 May, from the House of Manannan on 5 May and also from Douglas that night.  They will be talking to various people on the Island, including the Chief Minister, and will be looking at all aspects of Island life.  They will also be meeting people on the Island who used to live in Cumbria.
