The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company welcomes the motion that the Select Committee, which was set up to examine certain matters relating to the Company, should continue and that it be instructed to take further evidence on the Company’s accounts.

The Company is pleased that it will be able to present further written and oral evidence on its profitability and fuel surcharges. It will also seek to address inaccuracies contained in the Select Committee’s final report of November 2008.

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive, Mark Woodward, said: “I am delighted with the motion to continue the Select Committee and am keen to ensure that it does not restrict its remit to solely taking evidence on the Company’s accounts. The Committee’s report of November 2008 was mistaken in a number of ways and I welcome and look forward to the opportunity to be able to rectify these misunderstandings as a matter of public record.”
