One of the greatest ballets of all time - Swan Lake - will grace the stage of the Gaiety Theatre this month, with support from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
Performed by Russian National Ballet - a family-run company with more than 10 years’ experience - the timeless spectacle tells a heartbreaking tale of love and tragedy, accompanied by a rousing and emotive score by celebrated composer Tchaikovsky.
The Russian classic, complete with haunting music and exquisite dance, has captured the imagination of many generations with its fairy tale mystery and tragic romance.
Manager of the Gaiety Theatre, Seamus Shea, said: ‘We’re delighted to have booked these performers, who have captivated audiences worldwide. Russian National Ballet company tends to focus on smaller, regional venues and we’re sure they will wow our local theatre-goers too.
‘Thank you to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company for helping to bring Swan Lake to our shores.’
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘We are delighted to be supporting these performances this month. This is a wonderful opportunity for Manx audiences to experience one of the world’s leading ballets, in the stunning setting of the Gaiety Theatre.’
With performances on the evening of Friday 25th October and Saturday 26th October, there will be two opportunities to watch the compelling tale of Swan Lake unfold.
