We're here to make your experience of travelling as smooth and pleasant as possible. The informationbelow should help answer common questions about booking and ticketing.

The easiest and cheapest way to book is via our website. We strongly recommend creating an account in order to simplify any changes or amendments you may wish to make. You are welcome to book via our call centre. Our friendly team will be happy to assist with any enquiries. You can also book in person by visiting our terminals at Douglas, Heysham or Liverpool during normal opening hours. See individual port pages for details. Please note that there is a supplement of £7.50/ €11 per passenger and £15/ €21 per vehicle for telephone and in person bookings. Commercial vehicles and freight cannot be booked online. Please see the freight page for further details.

We don't add any charges for debit and credit cards. Please note, we don't accept payments by paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo or American Express.

All advertised prices or quotes include any fuel surcharges or rebates applicable at the time. No further changes will be applied after a ticket has been purchased. Surcharges incorporated in fares are reviewed and adjusted every three months to ensure fairness and transparency. Any changes in rates only apply to new bookings after the date of change. The level of surcharges or rebates applied accurately reflects changes in fuel costs incurred by the Company. All surcharges are agreed and audited by Isle of Man Government.

We strongly recommend all online bookings are made via an account. This gives you the ability to view and amend your bookings at any time. It is particularly useful in the event of sudden changes to travel plans. Amendment fees and difference of fare may be applicable, depending on the type of ticket you have booked. You can also call in to one of our terminals during opening hours or call the reservations line for assistance in changing bookings. Please note, some offer fares are not amendable. Please check details carefully at the time of booking. Bookings made with an agent or third party aggregator such as Direct Ferries: you will need to contact the agent with whom the booking was made to make amendments.

Booking directly with IOMSPC via the website is always the cheapest way to secure a booking. There is a charge of £7.50 per passenger and £15 per vehicle applied to telephone and in-person bookings. Online bookings do not incur these charges. Vans are now bookable online and the online discount would apply.

It is always easiest to have your QR code to hand. If you have not received it please check spam or junk folders in the email account you used when making the booking. You can also request the ticket is sent again. You will need to confirm personal details including email address and the physical address associated with the booking. However, it is possible to travel on just your booking reference. Please just hand in the reference at the Port in exchange for a ticket or at the check-in desk in exchange for your boarding card.

Currently it is only possible to book groups of up to eight travellers (including the lead booker) online. Larger groups should contact the reservations team via the contact details below for further details on making a booking.

In a word, no. The booking system will always show the lowest available fare for a selected sailing, as well as the standard, fully flexible fare for the same sailing. The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company uses a demand management system to try to ensure the best utilisation of available space across all our sailings. The most popular sailings will naturally sell out of special offer fares quickest. The best way to ensure you get the best value from your bookings is to - as far as possible - book early. If you're still looking for value remember that overnight and mid-week sailings are less popular and therefore have a higher proportion of offer fares available. Private vans will be able to be booked on our website at the same discounted rates as cars. Vans used for commercial use or in excess of 3m high and /or 6.5m long, must be booked with our reservations team.
